Bossman- (http://bossmanbandsc.com/)
“Funkified Southern rock is a distinctive sound that’s easy to do badly, mainly because endless guitar solos and blues growls can often comes across pretty shtick-heavy. But Bossman does it right. The group is tight, energetic and poised as it lays down swampy grooves, balancing the winding instrumental paths of the jam band tradition with concise songwriting and arrangement that rival the mastery of sonic sibling JJ Grey.” – Kyle Petersen, Free Times, Columbia, SC

Mountain Express Band –
Originating in Columbia, SC, the Mountain Express Band combines many influences of modern jam together with a working knowledge of traditional bluegrass, resulting in a sound they have coined as “RhythmicallyCultivatedOrganicGroovegrass.” Having shared the stage with the likes of Widespread Panic, Merl Saunders and his Rainforest Band, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice & Ricky Simpkins, The Larry Keel Experience, Snake Oil Medicine Show, El Buho & the Ultimate Acid Jazz Jam Featuring Gary Gazaway and Oteil Burbridge, The Spin Doctors, Acoustic Syndicate, Nashville Bluegrass Band, and Leftover Salmo, MXB is back from a long 16 year hiatus and is poised to begin the second chapter of their career. The sweet melodic sound of the mandolin, the trancing beat of the organic rhythm section, and the improvisational skills shared between the guitar and bass create the Mountain Express Band’s unique sound.

Jackaroe – (http://www.reverbnation.com/jackaroesc)
Jackaroe’s is more than a band, it is a family of friends that keeps the embers of creativity glowing with a sound and energy that is contagious and best felt in their live performances. Jackaroe’s American Roots Rock blends the best of the roots of all music into a sound all of their own. Most of Jackaroe’s members’ have 20+ years of music experience.
Aside from jam or rock, with three songwriters in the band you can expect to hear subtle differences in personal taste which adds various hints of bluegrass, jazz, reggae, blues and R&B. Live performances explode with dynamics and can take you on roller coaster of ups and downs if along for the ride. With clever, thought provoking lyrics that often hit close to home with the listener.
As a result, Jackaroe’s music has a wide appeal and they have been fortunate to play many local festivals and events in the Columbia area over the past few years: CMC Rhythm on the River, Riverbanks Rhythm and Blooms, Columbia Mardi Gras, Tasty Tomato Festival and the Rosewood Crawfish Festival to name a few.

Cletus Baltimore-
With over a decade under their belt, Cletus Baltimore has a mix of original songs that blend melodies of jazz, rock & roll, traditional and bluegrass into one. Along with a long history of song-writing, Cletus incorporates a deep catalog of covers including The Grateful Dead, Phish, as well as various iconic rock and roll. Come check out the ever changing Columbia staple forged in the mountains of North Carolina featuring eclectic guitar playing provided by Randy Hope, and tight bass grooves by David Griswold.

The Herbie Jeffcoat Projekt –
What happens when you throw a rock guitarist, a Gospel drummer, a jazz pianist, and a metal bassist into a blender and press “liquify”? The Projekt is here to twist your head off.

With unique collaborations in place and food available from PDQ [PDQ] at the best live music venue in Columbia, it’s sure to be a great night! Mark your calendars, spread the word, invite your friends, and show the Columbia through the Music Farm that we support LOCAL MUSIC!
