After a few years of performing as a three-piece group, the band welcomed Kevin’s former Revelators bandmate, Dell Goodrich, as their new lead vocalist, allowing Patt the opportunity to concentrate on his first love, playing lead guitar. Dell is a well-known vocalist and a long-time fixture in Columbia’s arts community. Over the years, she has performed in countless theatrical productions, as well as in a variety of benefit and special-event shows. Her most recent, and perhaps most memorable role, was that of Tammy Wynette in Stand by your Man, the Tammy Wynette story. Beginning in 1990, Dell has also been the lead vocalist for bands in Columbia and Hull, England. Recently, she has been a regular singer at Saturday “Live Music” nights at Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor, a bluegrass store and musical venue in West Columbia.

Stevie Patt is a veteran of blues and rock scenes in both NYC and Columbia. Bridges and Pettit have been playing throughout SC and Georgia in various bands since the late 1980’s. The many bands with which members of the Kites have performed include Irene’s Kitchen, Loch Ness Johnny, the Revelators, Don Merckle and the Blacksmiths, and Delta Swagger.

 
 
The debut EP, Mississippi Kites, was recorded by Stevie Patt at his home studio and mastered at Studio B in Charlotte, NC. A follow-up EP, Powerglide, was recorded and engineered by Jay Matheson at the Jam Room in Columbia, in the Spring of 2016.
