Closing out our fall season in style, we have two back to back Woodshed sessions this week – a surprise Wednesday session featuring Baltimore’s gypsy jazz ensemble Ultrafaux followed by Papa String Band on Thursday 11/19. Ultrafaux is making their mark on Columbia with a Monday performance at Tombo Grille that will be filled with originals and also arrangements of Django Reinhardt songs. We are honored to host this special Wednesday session to capture more of their original music for the archive.

UltraFaux is a Baltimore based acoustic ensemble that draws inspiration for their original music from legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt.
UltraFaux performs original acoustic music with Romani, Sinti, Musette, Swing Manouche, Funk, Blues, and Dixieland influences. The band is an acoustic powerhouse of two guitars and upright bass. Sami Arefin and Michael Joseph Harris trade dazzling leads and harmonize together on rich gypsy-inspired melodies. The dynamic Eddie Hrybyk on upright bass holds down the steady swinging pulse and brings his passion for improvisation to the group.
