Woodshed Archive’s Wednesday night special double session begins with “Alex & Catie”, a brother-sister duo who have been performing in Columbia for over 7 years and who work as instructors at Freeway Music lesson studio. Tune in from 8-9pm for their acoustic set which will be followed by a set with Don & Sara Ann Russo.
Alex and Catie Galan both began playing violin at the age of 5. Alex then decided to start playing guitar and began studying under Don Russo when he was 10. After only three years, he began to play in local restaurants and bars. It didn’t take long for him to collaborate with his sister, Catie and they began to play all over Columbia, including restaurants & venues such as Gervais & Vine, Delaney’s, Tin Lizzy’s and more, performing mainly acoustic covers.
Alex wrote his first song when he was 13 years old and continues to write new songs as often as he can. Catie also began songwriting recently and already has written two amazing songs. They are currently working on a new EP with Kenny McWilliams at Archer Avenue Studios.
Lineup:
Alex Galan – guitar
Catie Galan – vocals
